Method

  1. For each place, SolarPlan's own engine runs one household and one business through the same steps as a real plan: hourly sun at the regional capital from long-term satellite averages, an hourly consumption profile, self-consumption and surplus, then the installed price and the cash flows over 25 years.

  2. Installed prices come from our market data: researched cost curves per installed watt for homes and for businesses, plus permits and paperwork. Electricity prices are the regulated and market tariffs listed under sources.

  3. Payback is the year the savings repay the installed price, before any subsidy (subsidies shorten it; see each region page).

  4. A snapshot is stored once a month, so the history below shows how the figures move as prices and tariffs are updated.
