## Payback

A battery alone does not pay back from the bill: on a two-zone tariff, with outages counted at diesel cost, it saves about UAH 6,000 a year. It is bought for backup.

With 10 kW of solar the whole system (UAH 344,000–450,000) pays back in about 12 years; without the battery, 6 years.

**Assumptions:**

- A house using 9,000 kWh a year, Kyiv; two-zone tariff (night at half price); 90% efficiency, 15-year life, VAT included, no grants.

## Rules
