Priced per site, not included: transformer and switchgear, fire suppression, foundation, design and the grid-connection fee. ## Payback Price shifting alone on Spain's day-ahead market earns about €760 a year in SolarPlan's model: not enough to pay back within the battery's 15-year life. Spanish company batteries pay back with solar self-consumption: published estimates give about 6 years (5–8 years) for solar + battery. Peak shaving earns little: the 6.1TD demand charge is €23.95 per kW a year.
